You’re excusing an event to what’s your tradition…

I heard that CBS has rights to the SEC through 2023 and ESPN takes over full coverage in the summer of 2024. From that angle, why would ESPN want CBS to benefit at all from an early move in 2023?

Apparantely, the Longhorn Network will go way once UT moves to the SEC as well, so ESPN will owe UT some sort of payout on that, which possibly could be part of the negotiation on exit fees.

Obviously, the moves will happen when ESPN wants them to happen. Throw me in the 2024 bucket. It allows for more time on scheduling, possiblity of lowering exit fees, fits the new SEC TV deal better, etc.

Don't know how true it is, but I also heard that OU doesn't have the type of cash at their disposal like UT does and OU is not too interested in forking out $80MM (or whatever it is).

I like 11am games for the sole fact of not having to wait all day to watch my team, but other than that- they suck. Worst atmosphere of any time slot. Kills being about to go do errands etc during the day.

For when Texas and Oklahoma move to the SEC? It will be before then. Latest would be to start playing the 2025 season, but I think that is unlikely.

From what I've seen and heard contractual obligations would prevent any movement until 2025 at best.... Now the next Big 12 commissioner is expected to attempt to smooth everything over with OU and UT... In order to keep them within the conference.... Tons of variables at work.... I guess we'll just chop it up until the picture becomes clearer
