    Salmon

Finally after living in the PNW for many years I got after some salmon. The wife and I did a trip up to the Columbia River in Astoria with a buddy that has a guide service. It was a amazing day with lots of fish being caught. Finally can check a Chinook off the list of a fish I have caught.

Super cool. Well done Whirlwind! Ive been wanting to get after some PNW salmon for a while. I reckon the runs should be good for a little while longer.

Im curious to know by chance…Which bib-alls was the guide was wearing? And…What did yall use for lures?

He was wearing Simms but not sure which ones. We were fishing with either plugs with a mixture of sardine with tuna cut up for a oil trail and I caught mine on a sardine all had flashers as well. Caught in about 25’-80’ of water and anywhere from 20’-35’ down. The season goes until like the 5th of September up in that area but fish will be moving in other regions so hoping to get out again somewhere.

Thank you. It was a blast and until you have fought one of these on a rod your missing out.
