Most critters get a pass. Typically only interested in hogs and deer. Elk, antelope and caribou would be more of a someday bucket list opportunity. I do appreciate all kinds of predators mounts, it is just something I am not into.

They are prey animals. God made them to convert plant protein into meat. I would shoot either one.

Bobcats and Mountain lions. Not that I have had the opportunity for the latter, but still won’t shoot one (unless it wants me to be dinner).

If it needs shooting, I'll shoot anything, including the neighbors dog.
          Well said, my friend.

The giraffe thing I don’t really get either. We did eat some giraffe and it was okay. Zebra and eland was the best by far.

I’ve had several people tell me that zebra is actually quite good, however, I wonder if the same phenomenon about the consumption of horse flesh holds true for zebra in that there is a certain enzyme in these animals’ makeup that causes neurological problems when consumed by humans.

Anyone else ever heard of this?

The list of what I would and wouldn’t shoot is pretty long on both sides. Really not much reason behind any of them other than personal preference. I saw a video of someone shooting a baboon, I can say that would be low on the “would shoot” list. Zebra, giraffe, lion, hippo, etc I will probably never shoot. Just because of opportunity. If I win a Africa safari and they are on the list, look out.

I have called in a killed many fox and bobcat over my life but don't see the need now. When BC pelt was worth $85 and fox about $35 I had no qualms but not now.
Things I don't shoot anymore: Bobcat, fox, armadillo, porcupine, non ven snake, rabbits because they are scarce around here now days.
I will shoot a feral cat or feral dog (if i know they are feral).

In Missouri there's plenty of crops. But no fence rows for cover anymore. Quail and pheasant are all but gone.

Amazing how much zoos influence some. I’m a firm believer in Genesis If it’s legal and mature I’ll shoot it.

Even though the populations are exploding, I have no desire to shoot a black panther, or Bigfoot.

I actually thought of one that I don't think I'll probably shoot unless it's a nuisance just because they're hard to come by and that's a red fox. Any time I see one it seems like it gets hit by a vehicle or it disappears, most likely because a coyote caught and killed it. It would have to be a pretty unique lookin red fox for me to want to shoot one. That's another benefit of killing coyotes and other natural enemies of the fox. Less of them means less of them they have to dodge and it lessens the chance they'll catch parasites like mange and other diseases.

I shot one last Winter for a full body mount. That's good enough for me. They're not worth nothin as far as the fur market is concerned either so I'll do them a favor by making their enemies disappear.

I don't shoot any birds of prey, bobcats, cougars, badgers, foxes, there may be a few other critters. But I have no desire to hunt bears. The only predators I shoot, typically are coyotes. Just because their numbers can get way too high, easily, if left unchecked. I really don't have any desire to exterminate coyotes. I will shoot other predators, if I see their numbers getting too high for the area, but typically that's the only reason I will shoot predators.

Of the common ones, foxes, badgers, and bobcats. I love watching the foxes hunt and had a few Bobcats catch quail or birds right in front of my. Killed a few of each as a kid and just no reason to now.

We don’t shoot javelinas anymore. We used to have plenty but now they are a rare sight since the pigs have taken over.
