Daily Bible Portion – 2 of 7
"IN THE WILDERNESS"
(Weekly Reading>>Numbers 1:1-4:20, Hosea 2:1-22, Hebrews 6:20-7:19, Luke 2:1-52)
The Lord/Yahweh is not looking for perfection. He is looking and waiting for believers to respond. Edmund Burke, an 18th century Irish philosopher, once said, "In order for lawlessness and violence to prevail, all that good men have to do is nothing."
Paul exhorted believers to take hold of Jesus and take up our positions.
In order for believers to have an active anointing in their walk they must appropriate Christ's heavenly principles into their lives. If a believer does not, they will be powerless in their own lives to overcome and powerless to help others succeed if they are not upholding these principles, which is where His authority comes from. The day I became born again the first question I asked was "What do I do and how do I do it?" All I was told was "share the gospel." But what was this gospel? Was it "Jesus died on the cross for my sins" or was it much more? For years I searched for the answers to my questions. No one in the Church had an adequate response. I think they were asking the same questions. With Moses taken out of their teachings the answer went with him; therefore no one could help me. Now that redemption is being restored the gospel is returning to the rightful heirs and Christ's sheep are no longer lost, but found. Today, the army of the Lord is re-positioning and the Holy Spirit is reviving the mighty men of God with His tools (principles) so they can grow to maturity, move into position and stand for the constitution of their inheritance.
Men of God – Angus Buchan
Angus Buchan of the autobiographical movie Faith like Potatoes wrote in his book Coming of Age,
"2 Chronicles 7:14 is a verse in the Bible that's very, very close to my heart. It says: 'If My people…' Who are God's people? They are the believers. They are not the churchgoers, they are not the casual enquirers, they are not the pew-fillers, they are not the bench-warmers; they are the believers. Pride is probably the biggest sin in the Bible. It says that God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. You'll find that wherever Jesus went, He spent time with the widows and orphans; He spent time with the down-and-outs, the nobodies, the prostitutes, the alcoholics. He didn't spend too much time with the hierarchy in the church or indeed in society. He was for the people. He was a people's Man."
"The verse continues: "…will humble themselves and pray…" We have to pray the prayer of faith. It's no good just praying mechanically, going through the prayer book, or praying a prayer that you've prayed many times before and you don't even believe is going to happen. God never answers that type of prayer. He only answers the prayer of faith. James 5:16 says, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much"
"Returning to our Scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14, we read: "…and seek My face, and turn[repent] from their wicked ways…" That means to put the things of this world to one side; to really seek the face of God and to turn away from any known wickedness and sin; things like hatred, unforgiveness, theft, murder, homosexuality, abortion and racism. The Lord says that if we turn away from these things, then He will hear from heaven, He will forgive our sins and He will heal the land."
"We can be a spectator or we can start by repenting and asking for forgiveness for arrogance, for pride, for fearfulness, for inadequacies and start to live our lives as an example to our sons and daughters."
Today, Jesus our High Priest is preparing His people, His army, to move camp. When believers obey the instructions given at Mount Sinai – His gospel - and follow His Heavenly principles/pattern (which brings Spirit Life), they will experience spiritual revival/resurrection life (mobility). This edifies Jesus and blesses others. The salvation of our spirit is entering into an eternal covenant relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is not to be confused with the salvation of our soul. Both work together in the sanctified holy lifestyle called eternal life. Now that we are born again/saved, how do we walk in Christ's holiness - as He said be holy as I am holy (1 Peter 1:9-13).

1 Corinthians 9:23-27 "Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified."
2 Timothy 2:5 And also if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully.

1 Peter 1:9-16 "receiving the end [goal, purpose, result] of your faith - the salvation of your souls. Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ/Yeshua who was in them [the prophets] was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ/Yeshua and the glories that would follow. To them [the prophets] it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven - things which angels desire to look into. Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober[awake], and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in ALL your conduct, because it is written, 'Be holy, for I am holy.'"
Hebrews 12:14 "Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord."
