Ever pick up a gas flex connector and blow through it? They sound like it would make a good elk call. Noise could be higher velocity than design. If it is the piping, sounds like a velocity issue, a plumber should be involved.
Orifices for propane are half the size of ones for natural gas. It is possible to get high pitched noises out of orifice/venturi's on burners.
The orifices eject air into the venturi, and pick up air in the correct mixture for a clean burn.
Check to see if one or more of your orifices are firing in the venturi. Sounds like a jet engine a bit, and happens sometimes. Usually an out of design pressure isssue, high or low. Sometimes a rough ignition can cause this, with no fire on the burner. If this is the case, an adjustment will be necessary. Should be performed by someone who knows how.
My burner is a roll of copper tubing with holes drilled in it and pulled it up like a spring to provide different elevations before i covered it with lava rock. been working great for past 15 years.
