If you go to the George Bush Presidential Museum in Dallas, there is a cheddar cheese burger "cooked over a fire" on the menu at the restaurant there that is very good.

Living in Goldthwaite I prefer mine. Close second is Dairy Queen and Peabodys Cafe.

Bellaire Broiler Burger in Houston is hard to beat. Place hasn’t been touched since the 60/70s. But the burgers are awesome. True hole in the wall.

I used to think the blue bacon burger at Iron Horse in New Braunfels. But I have to say the blue bacon burger at 1868 Grill in Seguin, is better.

Fredonia Peanut Co. Payo burger. Pretty hard to beat.

I was gonna say BBB in my previous post of recommending Lankford Grocery. I ate their a lot in the early 90’s when I worked in the Galleria. I’m glad to hear it’s still good.

                  Praseks in hillje

Fresh peppered thick cut bacon and a huge juicy meat patty. Maybe I was just hungry that day but it’s stood out to me for years

Woody's was good, but way too much cigarette smoke for me. Dairy Mart a little further west in MineralWells is dang good, no smoke just the stench from the grease trap.........

I’ll have to second both and also add Smitty K’s in Bryan off of Hwy 30

Yep, a Ray’s Special might be my favorite burger on the planet (with onion rings and Vanilla Coke). And the burger at the airport is awesome - just like having grandma make you a burger. Definitely a hidden gem in East Texas!
