Why does this have to be so complicated!!

I want to watch videos on my TV from my phone. My phone had the internet, I DO NOT WANT TO USE MOBILE DATA.

Roku and Chromecast needs 3 devices hooked to the Internet.
The Device, my iPad and my phone WHY?
