    Night hunting. Why’s it illegal

Curious why hunting whitetail at night is illegal, but hunting other animals at night is not? Obviously, I want no part of Game Wardens so I follow the rules but curious non the less.

Like other animals. Deer are less weary at night.

Seems pretty obvious with how easy it is to spotlight deer at night. More active and less skittish

what game animals can you hunt at night?

          It’s dangerous.
You cant see what you’re shooting at.

Because Texas Whitetail are so underpopulated across the state and no body would stop at five......

On serious note how hard is it really to kill any five deer in the majority of the state. It’s not, but I do ageee if you have to stop at a yearly limit why does it matter.

That was my first assumption, that it would give us, as hunters, an unfair advantage. I hate to assume though.

I’ve been told “because of safety too” but people plow through the woods at night mowing down pigs half drunk with ar-15’s all the time lol

I think it should be legalized under the following conditions, just to make it fair:

                  1. The hunter may not use any form of light including night vision.
                  2. The hunter must be stripped down to his birthday suit and wear no shoes while hunting.
                  3. The hunter must spend an extended period of time in the woods alone gathering his own food and water prior to the hunt.
                  4. The hunter must do his business in the woods using only naturally occurring material to clean himself.
                  5. The hunter has purchased valid night tags.
                  6. The hunter may use any weapon he chooses as long as he makes it himself using materials he has gathered from the woods while tromping around in his birthday suit, shoeless, with no form of light, duking where he pleases, with legally purchased night tags, and sustained only by what he could gather.

Seems like legalizing night hunting should be a no brainer. [emoji6]

It's because deer are suicidal at night, how else do you explain all the dead ones along the highway.

They will walk right towards a spot light
There is no sport in hunting white tail at night.

Because it’s called hunting, not shooting.

Same reason you can't use dogs to hunt deer anymore, too much of an advantage for the humans.

I think, in the eyes of the law, that its more about fairness to the deer than safety. otherwise they wouldn't allow non-game hunting at night.
