Figured I’d follow up to the original thread in which I was looking for help aging. Took my son on his first deer hunt and my target buck, Basket Case, made an appearance. My son is 9 and never shot at a deer. After about five minutes of broadside opportunity and lining up the shot he pulled the trigger. He was shooting .223 and I knew he had hit the deer. After waiting some time we went and looked where the deer was hit and found absolutely no sign of blood, hair or anything that showed the deer had been hit. Dang!! So we get back into the blind with plenty more time and I still hadn’t shot anything. Waited in till light faded then got out with head lamps. Still no blood or anything. At this point my son is bumbed out and pretty sad. I kept following the path I watched the deer take and right at the tree line about 60 yards from the feeder we spotted blood. Not only there but it looked like a bucket of blood had been poured out. Hope was back instantly. Another 10 yards into the woods and Basket Case was piled up right there. He was about 30 yards from the blind the whole time. So here come the pics. Any help with aging the teeth would be appreciated. First picture is of deer being hit. Looks like he had got caught in a fence too.
