Another year, another hunting season. Honda P500 is loaded on the trailer, cart on the back. Going for spring bear behind the large mountain behind my neighbors house (12+ miles)- ‘Old Baldy’ in the am.

I can’t find anybody interested to join me- who wants to go?

Bear awareness, an XDm 10mm with backup magazine and my InReach all on the chest holster. Bear spray’s a joke in my opinion after testing 3 recently expired snd 1 new can last season.

I drove multiple dirt roads and trails and didn’t see any game but new country I didn’t know was there.

Met a couple from Texas on my way in who were looking for an observatory. I think a local astronomy group sets up on some flat area- I couldn’t help them. We got to talking and they loved glassing the mountains and the area. I gave them some local places to visit with interesting history and told them when Amanda opens Ruby Valley Brewery for a great beer.
