    Let’s talk CPAP mask

After being diagnosed with sleep apnea a few years back I have been thru 4 full face masks. Time to order another and I’m undecided.
What brand full face mask are you comfortable with ?
    Be blessed

Not a full face, but I use Swift FX nasal pillows. Have used them for 4+ years. I have to use a chin strap to keep my mouth closed. Very comfortable.

Nasal pillow is the way to go.

I'll check the name of it when I get home. I have had a CPAP for 2 years now. Mine covers the mouth and nose. It's pretty awesome.

I'm glad someone is liking theirs. I think mine was made by the devil. Once I get to sleep I'm usually ok but getting there is a pain. I've tried several masks and several sizes and the only one that even remotely works is the simplus full face mask. I have hell getting anything to seal. I've tried tightening the mask, loosening the mask etc. It wakes me up constantly when it leaks. I've been using it every night without fail for about three months. I can tell I have a little more energy during the day but nothing dramatic. I think if I could get the mask issue fixed then it would be better. I'm at a pretty high pressure(19) and was told I needed the full face.

How do you guy's get past the silicone smell? I tried for almost a year and could not do it as soon as I put the mask on my sinuses would slam shut from the smell. It drove me nuts I finally returned the machine. Now my Doc is insisting I try again.

I had that problem about 10 years ago. Turns out it wasn't the mask, it was my nose. Went to an ENT and had that fixed. Now no problem. I need to replace my mask but I don't remember the name of it and it's not on the mask. I've used pillows for nearly 25 years. I used to have trouble sealing but with this mask I don't. usually the problem has to do with the hose placement. Hoses that can pivot tend to leak on me. I use a hose that goes directly over my head and down between the mattress and headboard. The machine is on a step stool. I make sure there is just enough hose for me to move around. Too much hose or too little makes it leak. The mattress and headboard keep the hose in place. Since I switched to a secure hose I don't wake up with leaks anymore. I sleep on sides and back.

My hose has one pillow unit hooked to a soft plastic, u shaped mask. The straps are simple and the hose is strapped at the top. It may have been a Swift but I cant be sure.

AirFit™ N10 Nasal CPAP Mask With Headgear by ResMed.

This one is just a nasal cone. I tried the nasal pillows and it just wasnt comfortable to me. Go in and try a couple on.

I have my hose going up and over the headboard. Keeps the hose in an upright position. I have no problems with my nasal pillow not sealing.

I use a ResMed Quatro FX full face mask. If my nose stops up due to allergies, I must breathe through my mouth. I also take Walitin, Walgreen's generic Claritin, daily pill to stop allergies. Don't eat within three hours before bed to avoid acid reflux. Sometimes, I get water in my ears which bothers the heck out of me. Don't overfill your water reservoir.

I use a mirage Ultra mask...You need to be sure you are sized correctly to get your mask to seal and be comfortable

While I wouldn't exactly say I love mine, this one is the best I've found.
