TBH advice about concrete needed
I'm working with a contractor to price a small barndominium (overall footprint 26'x39') to be built on my property in Doss and it will have a small enclosed area (finished out area is 12'x24') but figuring for framing and purlins the actual slab will be approximately 14'x26'. We staked corners and I'm not exactly sure what the highest corner will be but the site has a small grade to it. He had a concrete guy come out and give an estimate and he's quoting $7500 for the slab. That's $20.60/sq. ft. and seems unreasonably high. I had estimated worst case $12-$12.50 per sq. ft. based on conversations with some custom home builders I know and talked with. Anyone know if this is truly the going rate for concrete work in the hill country? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
