I’m hoping to get this lucky one of these days! I’ve got a bottle of small batch on the shelf, but would really like to get ahold of a single barrel!

This JD bottle is slated for international sales only. You won't find it in the US except on bases and maybe Duty Free locations from what i heard.
It’s very smooth, and has a great flavor.
    should have grabbed 2 lol.
That’s what I read as well, only available, in duty free and bases.

Figured it was worth $100 to try.

My wife got this one for me. I wish I know where it went overseas before making its way back to the US.

Good place to start if you are getting into drinking neat. Reviews I heard on Travelers is a kind bland one note pour. That's not a bad place to start out to have a way to compare. Most Weller products are great. The lower proof bourbon(85-90) is also great place to start. High proof can be overpowering when you first start. There are a lot of great bottles that you can find for $50-80

If I were to suggest bottles for building a collection from scratch....

    Angels Envy....low proof bourbon
    Jameson....Irish very easy drinking
    Yellow Rose.....sweeter blended whiskey
    Pendleton Midnight....Canadian easy drinking

    More Flavor:
    Old Forester 1910 & 1920
    Wild Turkey Rare Breed
    High West Double barrel Rye
    Angels Envy Rye
    Elijah Craig Small Batch
    Eagle Rare 10 year

    Serious Flavor:

    Elijah Craig Barrel proof
    Jack Danial Rye Barrel proof
