My current TOP 5 (sub $75 a 750ml):

In no particular order

1. Blantons (current favorite, but not worth price anymore)
2. Makers 46 ( was a steal, now above its price point but still great)
3. Weller 12 ( great at retail value, not worth $48+)
4. Eagle rare ( great sub $30..... not a $45 bottle)
5. Wild turkey 101 ( still the best per dollar there is, I enjoy it more and more)

Note: list subject to change at any time, for no reason except my taste changes

1) Weller 12 (current favorite, great at retail value...and considering they’re the base for Pappy’s, worth 10 times retail to some.
2) Blanton’s ( overpriced, good but not great...great marketing and I buy it when I can, mostly because I can and collect the horses)
3) Eagle Rare ( Every day bourbon. Amazing at retail and better than most twice the price)
4) Basil Hayden ( Good Bourbon, priced where you would expect it)
5) Larceny ( Best dollar value Bourbon, like Eagle Rare for value, but different flavor)

Not sure I really have a top 5 but my favorites are as follows.

1. Four Roses Single Barrel - over all hands down favorite.
2. Weller's 12 yo
3. Blanton's - I haven't had this in years and I'm not paying $70 for a bottle I previously bought for $50.

Larceny is by far the worst middle grade bourbon I’ve ever had. In my humble opinion at least lol.

It’s the first sentence on the label. Says “This bourbon whiskey dumped on xx-xx-xx from barrel no. X. Stored in warehouse x on rick no. X. Individually selected and bottled by hand at xx proof

My open bottle right now is 10-10-16, it’s decent but not their best. I have consistently been happy with bottle from warehouse H though

I don’t hve any 8-10 but will keep an eye out

2 - George T Stagg
3 - Noah’s Mill
4 - Stagg Jr
5 - 4 Roses Single Barrel or Barrel proof
6 - Rock Hill Farms
7 - Elijah Craig small batch (easily found and around $26, amazing value for a 12yo)
8 - Eagle Rare (great pour for under $30, pretty easy to get)
9 - Michter’s 10yo
10 - High West Double Rye

Honorable mention: Blantons, Makers/Makers 46

Tip: don't always think bulk is best buy. I found I could buy 2 375 ml of don Julio for $6 cheaper than a 750. Today I found 375ml wild turkey 101 for $11.... a 750 is $26

Good observation, I’ll gave to pay more attention.

I’m trying to find good deals on mini/airplane bottles of good stuff right now. Used to be able to get the mini Blantons everywhere but those are gone and Buffalo Trace is almost $5!

375 of eagl rare is $22 now... 750 is $42-$45... it's good at <$30
Makers 46 when it came out $32.... now$42
Blantons was $51-53... I bought one Memorial Day that had dust on it for $49... now $71+

I've still got 10 or so bottles of Blantons so I'm good till the hipsters find something new to drink if not I love tequila and have a stock pile of it as well
