The official Whiskey (bourbon) thread.

This is what I’ve picked up the last couple of weeks since I moved into my new house and wanted to stock my bar.

Angels Envy
Eagle Rare
Garrison Brothers
Noah’s Mill
Knob Creek
Rowan’s Creek
Suntory Toki(Japanese)
Jameson
Pinhook
Crown Resevre

Then I also got a scotch but I’ve never drank scotch.

Mainly I just kept Jack, Crown and Rebecca Creek and mixed with coke if I wanted to drink whiskey. Every so often I would crab a bottle of Buffalo Trace, TX or 1837 or something like that to mix with coke.

The 1837 was terrible I thought.

Thanks! I went and bought a few the other day to start off with but will be stopping in Houston Tomrrow to grab a bottle or two probably of the Texas brands.

Man, as blasphemous as it sounds, I don't drink a ton of Texas stuff. Garrison Bros, Rebecca Creek, Balcones are all very reputable brands with a lot of unique offerings. I'm just not versed enough in the Texas juice to give you any input there. I know there's plenty of folks here that can.

Good luck, man. Bourbon/Whiskey can quickly turn into an obsession lol!

That Eagle Rare is one of my favorite sippers. Buffalo trace is great for the price. Elijah craig is good at it's price. You picked up some good options to try and see what you like. I have not liked any of the Texas bourbons or whiskeys except Garrison Bros but really feel it's over priced and I won't buy it. I usually add an ice cube or two to anything over high 90 proof or more or in the TX summer when I need a cold drink. Let us know what you like best

It's the first time I've seen it on the shelf. I see the small batch bourbon pretty regularly but not the rye.

Man, you ain't lying... that's well above even the secondary market price! I appreciate it. I can get some at secondary but I've just been trying to get a hold of some on the shelf. I've been lucky enough to findcouple of bottles of it. I may try and trade into some, if I can't find any soon.

Grabbed a couple of more bottles and think I’m done for now. May end up buying a few higher end bottles in the spring or early summer if I take a liking to it.

Grabbed burning chair, yellow rose outlaw bourbon and heaven’s door on the way home today.
