Old Corba Stabilizer?

I've got a old bow with about a 6" cobra stabilizer.
This is set up so you can unscrew the stabilizer and tighten up the stabilizer
stright out when you want to shoot.
This works great because it foldes up out of the way.
Anyone ever use this type of Stabilizer ?
I know its old but are the newer ones any better than the old Corba stabilizers?
