Axis Fence Question

I'm wanting to build a fence to raise Axis deer. Will a 6' tall fence keep them in or do I need to have an 8' fence?

pretty sure 8ft Antler...ive thought of the same thing but still looking for an extra 50K

Some people tell me they won't jump a 6', but I don't know. I've raised them before, but had an enclosed pen. This time I want to fence about 4 acres thats about half pasture and half woods. Not as business, we just enjoy having them

Small area then I would do ten foot. If you are going to hand raise then eight should work. Being in a small space they will scare and head towards the fence. I have seen a few just about clear a 8 foot fence. No way I would do six foot.

We hand bottle feed them after 3 days. They will be tame and use to human contact

I've seen em clear a 6' fence like it wasn't even there. Go 8' or higher

May go 8' then run a couple strands of barbed wire at the top

Couple strands of barbed wire on top is probably asking for trouble if they try to clear it. Personally I would go 10'. Ive seen them clear a 6' fence with ease.

Barb wire is to discourage pushing on the fence. Having it on top of a eight foot fence isn't going to help much. Eight foot will be good enough.
