Matthew 5:17-20
"Do not think that I came to annul the Torah(law) or the Prophets; I did not come to annul, but to fulfill. Truly I say to you, Until heaven and earth pass away, in no way shall one yod or stroke pass away from the Torah(law) until all comes to pass. Therefore, whoever loosens one of these commandments, the least , and shall teach men so, he shall be called the worst in the kingdom of Heaven. But whoever does and teaches them, this one shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven. For I say to you, If your righteousness shall not exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Yahweh, never"
This is a direct quote from Jesus concerning the Law(Torah) and the prophets. It is interesting that Jesus does not reject the law(Torah) like we are told by our pastors. Why? What does heaven and earth have to do with the law? Have they passed?
Deuteronomy 30:19
"I call Heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore, choose life that you and your seed may live."
We have free will to make a choice. Obey his commands and receive life or choose to disobey and receive death. Reminds me of the choice made in the Garden of Eden? Heaven and earth are required witnesses regarding sin which is transgression of his law. Every matter shall be established by two or more witnesses.
Deuteronomy 19:15
"One witness shall not rise against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin which he sins. At the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses a thing shall be established."
2 Corinthians 13:1
"I am coming to you this third time. "In the mouth of two or three witnesses every matter shall be established."
Having read the above verses lets see if we can find some more witnesses before we can "establish a matter" concerning the Law.
Luke 16:17
"But it is easier for the heaven and earth to pass away than one letter of the Torah to pass away."
Luke 21:33
"The heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words(Torah) will not pass away, never!"
Matthew 24:35
"The heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will not pass away, never!"
Heaven and earth are the two witnesses called by God for our transgression of His law(Torah), has heaven and earth passed?
Revelation 21:1
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea no longer is."
So then at this point is the law done away with? Not until "all comes to pass" according to scripture
Revelation 22:18-19
"For I testify together with everyone hearing the Words of the prophecy of this Book, if anyone adds to these things, God will add upon him the plagues having been written in this Book. And if anyone takes away from the Words of the Book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the Book of Life, and out of the holy city, and the things having been written in this Book."
This is the same blessings and curses we read in Deuteronomy 30. Which would also make the following verses either very true or very false.
Hebrews 13:8
"Jesus Christ(who's name is the word of God), the same yesterday and today and forever."
Malachi 3:6
"For I am the Lord, I do not change....."
Ecclesiastes 1:9
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
Isaiah 46:8-10
"Remember this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.
As we can see the Laws, Words, Commandments and Instructions of God are the very fabric that holds the entire scripture together beginning to end. It is confusing if we listen to man because they tell us we can pick and choose. Sure we can pick and choose. If we add to them we get the plagues, if we take away from them we are taken out of the book of life. With it there is everything without it there is nothing....We have to ask ourselves, Who do we believe? Do we believe the Word of God or do we believe men who teach against the Word of God? What does the Bible say of those who teach against the word of God? Whom do they belong to? The time is coming for us to pick a side and "therefore choose life that you and your seed may live!"
