Day of contentment
"This is only a test!" So often, we hear these words during the late night hours via our televisions. Please understand these great words can also be applied to our lives as well. These scriptures remind us to remain content.
Each and everyday as we go through the journey of life, God is testing us to see if we are ready for a promotion. As a result, we are often confronted by trials and tribulations where God is testing us to see how we will respond. Remember, this is only a test! Proverbs 3:25-26 reminds us not to be afraid but to be confident in the Lord.
Praise at all times He has already promised to see us through. Will you stay consistent and content when adversities come knocking at your door? Or will everyone around you know you are going through an unfortunate event? God wants you to rejoice when you are being blessed and also when you are facing a trial.
God will make a way He promises when you go through the fires of life you will be unharmed. Just as He has helped Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, God wants the same for you. Do you believe today He is making a way for you and destroying your mountains? The Lord states, "I myself will prepare your way, leveling mountains and hills. I will break down bronze gates and smash their iron bars." We have to stay in a place trusting and believing through prayer things will work out. Do not keep your eyes on your issues, but on God. In doing so, He promises you will not fall.
Reflection: Begin today declaring whatever comes your way, whether good or bad, you will continue to rejoice knowing He is already fighting for you. What things are you rejoicing for today?
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. (Philippians 4:11, 12 NIV)
Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared. (Proverbs 3:25, 26 NIV)
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. (Acts 16:25, 26 NIV)
and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them. (Daniel 3:27 NIV)
though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. (Psalm 37:24 NIV)
