I hunt between Laredo and Zapata about 7 miles east of the RG and I will not hunt alone. So far, no reason to think something is going to happen but I don't like to take chances that are unnessary. Also even when hunting with someone I make sure my AR is close by before going to bed. Having someone along for the drive and to talk to while sitting around the camp fire makes it more enjoyable.

I can see it now! Two deer walk on your blind while your exercising. He you hear that noise? Yeah! What is it? I don't know. Man look at the way that blind is rocking back and forth and the strange grunting sounds coming from it. I don't know what's going on in there but I ain't sticking around to find out! Lets get the heck outa here

I go alone all the time. Sometimes, well most of the time, i enjoy being by myself. Sometimes it'd be more fun with a buddy. I've probably been lucky never to have had a bad experience. As folks say, it is what it is...

I see you hunt near Bruni. Who do you have your cell service with? Have one phone with Sprint and another with AT&T. I always turn off my Sprint phone (no service) when I'm driveing from Fal to Laredo. My AT&T go phone gets service in that area. Maybe get a go phone? If you know of any lease openings in that area let me know. Moma gave me the green light on getting a lease half way through the season so I'm looking fo next year.

It can be peaceful but it definitely gets old.

I have a 4x8 blind 7ft tall on a 18ft stand. I feel safer up there than sleeping back at camp in the trailor. Been doing it for 2yrs now and besides not having anybody for help in tracking, field dressing, ext I love the feeling. Just me and nature, I don't have many neighbors either so it works for me. I do feel bad when I miss the kids every night and ask about my hunts.

I do it a lot. If you are worried about safety, get a SPOT.

When I don't have customers I hunt alone alot. I love it, it's my time to think. I enjoy hunting with friends and family too though.
