    Camper Insurance

How many carry insurance on lease campers. I have one of the fema trailers and paid 3k for it and have been wondering if it is really worth insuring? I know if something happened I would kick my self.

    I do, it is cheap.

I write travel trailer insurance all the time and most people dont mind getting insurance because it is pretty cheap. In most cases about the same price as boat insurance, 3K camper compared to 3K boat.

I don't know if they still are, but they used to be covered under Homeowners off-premises personal property coverage. (without buying an additional policy for them) Might ask your homeowners agent about that.

$12 a month would be well worth it not having to worry about anything.

I had camper insurance on a camper years about 15 years ago. It was a $5000 camper, it got hit by hail and the insurance company gave me $3500 to fix it. I didn't, I just sold it for $4000.
My current camper cost about $6500 a few years ago. It got hit by hail, and the insurance company gave me $4200 to fix it. I spent about $200 fixing skylights and windows, I can live with the rest of the dings.

Worked out well for me, cost about $75 a year, State Farm was the insurance company.

I think up to 10% of home value!

I do not but often wish I did.....like now when I am concerned about it being turned over because of high winds earlier this week.....

It is lumped in with all of my other insurance but I think it is less than $20 a month. I have had insurance on my lease camper for about 14 years.

I would love to have a cheap p[olicy that would cover everything on my lease from campers to ATV's and hunting trucks, stands and feeders.

Never have looked into it though!

I was going to try and see what Codie could do but he up and changed careers!

Are these figures on value your presonal figure or the "actual" blue book value (which are usually very far apart)? The reason I ask is that my insurance co. allowed me to insure mine for what the asking price was but then when I had to file a claim on it they were only going to give me actual blue book value which was barely 1/2 what I originally paid for it. They said they had the right to do it that way. While the premiums aren't much 10.00 a month it's the not telling the customer up front that they will only cover for blue book value.
