    Pre built privacy fence panels

Have done 2 sides of the yard, 2 sides to go and that will probably be my Memorial Weekend project. Home Depot has 6’ tall 8’ wide pre-built cedar fence panels with 3 2x4 stringers for $96.
Back of the napkin math I’m about $62 in material for the same panel.
However, looking at my time and labor, I’m thinking it’s worth the extra cash to save the extra labor.
Anybody gone this route? What sayeth the green screen?

    HD probably has 2x3 stringers…

I've done it both ways. Unless your ground is perfectly even and everything is ''square' I would build it yourself. It will stand the test of time way better and look better. 12 pk and a nailgun and you can knock it out pretty quick depending on how big your yard is.

I've done it both ways too, seems the picket by picket , always looks better and lasts longer.

          They’re great…if you suck
Our neighbor just built a fence with these and it looks terrible. Might be ok if your yard is super flat.

Hanging the pickets is pretty fast. Make you a jig for the top of the fence and you can get pickets up fast. setting post takes the longest.

                Quality !
                Not Home Depot.
Costs too much either way, to have it fall apart.
Go to a fence supply and get real wood

Okay y’all talked me into not being lazy. What are your best fence building tips. I like the jig idea for picket height. What else y’all got? Screws or nails?

I use a 2x6 rot board on the bottom and make that follow my terrain. Then sit the pickets on top of that and it’s even. Clean look that way

Posts 7' apart, 2x6" treated rot board, & no gap between the pickets(they'll dry & leave a gap).
