What about North Texas Tannery? They have done several axis hides for me. Any one had them do a bear?

Most bear require a 3 step degreasing process, minimum, using an heavy duty degreaser. And sometimes I’ll run them through a 4th.

Exactly. Last years bear was made into a rug. I’m bringing it home myself after this years hunt to avoid shipping charges.
I will not go bear hunting next year. I’m going back to Africa. I need a taxidermist in Texas pretty much anywhere here that does good work.
I fully understand there are lots of taxidermist in Texas. Some are better than others. Some do lots of deer shoulder mounts and few bears. I’m just asking if anyone had a bear rug made by a Texas taxidermist that they are happy with.Last edited by Texans42; 05-08-2025, 10:58 AM.

I used Rug-Be Bears out of Michigan for mine, based on a recommendation from a buddy that lived in Alaska and had several done. Was very happy with the finished product. It has been a few years, but between their work and shipping I still came out cheaper than I could’ve had it done locally.
I thought I had more pics, but here is only one I have.1 Photo
