    Looking for My Next Career

I’m starting to shake the bushes and thought the GS would be another good lever… appreciate any leads if someone comes across anything! I’m based in Austin and open to travel but not willing to relocate.

After almost 12 years with a global semi-conductor company, they are restructuring and I had an opportunity to take a package and exit. For the last 3 years I’ve been the global leader over Industrial Facilities, Security, EHS, Crisis Mgmt, and Real Estate. My core competencies fall with risk mgmt/security but I can lead and operate across many sectors. I’m also a veteran with an electronic engineering background and have spent time working in supply chain, Logistics, manufacturing, and high-tech verticals during dynamic growth in global capacities.

I’m open to different opportunities and looking for a good place to work/culture and people vs chasing the money. I believe I have a lot to bring to the table…

Thanks for reading this and I’m more than happy to share my resume for any interested parties!

    G.

If you have industry recognized professional certifications CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CIA, CompTIA, etc. you should be able to go anywhere you want.

Maybe look into a trade group called IFMA-I ternariknal Facility Managers Association. Might be a job board or some worthwhile connections there

Take the package, I had two friends work for the same company and the package came up, one friend took it 60-month severance, the other didn't- he got laid off two weeks later. He's still pizzed off.

Make sure you read the fine details in the package to make sure you will be employable elsewhere.

I would look for any company that has critical infrastructure. Refineries are a great place, railroad operations, airports, large hospitals, etc. I worked with a lot of Corp Sec people over the years. It seemed most of it was headed to outsourcing, but we had a lot of people in your field that were part of the PMO.

What do you want to do if you're not simply chasing a paycheck?

Security consulting or going in and developing / implementing a security program or improving an existing one…

                              There’s no more “non-compete.”
