Cross Canadian Ragweed/ Turnpike in Stillwater

I will always be a CCR fan, but I love Turnpikes music.

I like Turnpikes music, but no desire to see their show. Seen them a couple times over a decade ago, and again last month. If it wasn’t for Jason Isbell and Charles Wesley Godwin I wouldn’t have even gone then.

I tried finding a hotel or air bnb yesterday morning and nothing available. Hopefully be able to get pre sale tickets and then just hope some folks cancel their reservations.

It’s not fancy, but the Holiday Inn Express in Ponca City still has rooms at normal rates. It’s only 40 miles north of Stillwater, so a decent bit closer than OKC although in the wrong direction.

Turnpike did the same thing when they made their return a few years ago. It wasn’t until a few months after the initial ticket sale that they announced more dates. Everybody scrambled and paid top dollar for the first show because they thought it was the only show.

I didnt want to imply this was the game plan, but I suspect there will be additional dates in the future.

The Hampton Inn in Enid also has rooms. It’s been a decade, but it was nice then and Enid has adequate restaurants etc

My initial thought is I would love to see this then I remembered it's in Oklahoma. My second thought was (outside Turnpike) I think these guys are so past their prime that it would be disappointing for what you paid. That and Cody Canada comes off to be such a self righteous p rick.

I like their music. Just last weekend I run through all their videos in YouTube. Won't be making a trip to OK though.
