“One Ranger” a memoir by Joaquin Jackson

This book has been out since 2007 so many of you may have read it but I just finished it. Joaquin Jackson’s career as a Texas Ranger ran from the mid 60’s to the early 90’s, spanning the transition from old school to modern law enforcement. This book is packed with great stories. Highly recommend

Read it last year. The changes that took place in his career were incredible. Some of the stories in the book sure do make you think of south Texas as wild country.

I've read them both and they are very good books. I might need to read them again, as it's been a while.

My dad, a former warden and director of a private prison company, loves this book so much. He says "this is how law enforcement was in the good ol' days". His signed copy still sits on his bookshelf.

                      “One Riot, One Ranger”

I was fortunate to meet him at a Texas Ranger gathering in Three Rivers back in 2012-13ish. Man could definitely tell a story. He talked the talk and walked the walk.

I was a fan until he revealed that he was a traitor when it came to the second amendment.
