Here are a few. I wasn’t ordinance. I was an aircraft sheet metal mech/welder. But we had nothing to do. If the planes could stay in the air, they flew them. If they couldn’t they parked them and go another one. So we went out to the ordinance depot and helped assemble bombs. It was actually pretty cool!Last edited by brianlg31; 01-20-2024, 08:17 PM.

I was working for Cameron Elastomer Technology then and was watching the night footage of “shock and awe”. Semper Fi 2nd Tank Battalion, Camp LeJeune. 7th Communication Battalion, Camp Hansen, Okinawa. Oooorah! My supply Sargent let me keep my K Bar. Still got it!Last edited by Hogmauler; 01-21-2024, 06:36 AM.

Thank you for your service sir! I served in Army aviation 82-86. I didn’t go to desert storm but my Brother fired the very first shot of Desert Storm. Task force Normandy. He was a CW2 Apache Helicopter pilot. YouTube has good videos of this Mission. He doesn’t mind talking the air war much but he’s only talked about the ground war once. He was with the 101st. The Highway of death day. Told me he didn’t know how many men he killed that day but it was too many to count. Flew all day loading and unloading that Apache. He’s never been the same since then. Definitely changed him. We grew up in Azle Tx.
