2024 Workout Accountability Thread!

    Hit it again this morning for arms and legs. Took it pretty easy on the arms trying not to aggravate my elbow. It seems ok right now. Heavy on the legs so pretty sure I'll have trouble walking by the end of the day.

    Belt squat 3X6
    Deadlift 3X6
    Hanging leg raise 3X10
    Cable pushdown 3X6
    BB curl 3X6
    Super squat 3X10
    Calf raise 3X10
    Arm blaster curl 3X10
    Incline situp 3X10
    Leg extension 3X10
    Cable kickback 3X10

    Rest this weekend, play some golf, work around the house on projects. I see strip sets in my future for chest and back.

      Took Wednesday as a rest day and ended up working Thursday so no workout for 2 days…
      chest and triceps done earlier today… shoulder is still not 100% but seems to be getting better

          Took today as a rest day. I spent all weekend nursing some kind of upper respiratory crap and I injured my back somehow. I can't hardly bend over and the pain is the worst. It's time to go back to the pain management doc.

              I hope the back injury heals up quickly. I have been trying to get by with some nagging shoulder pain… I dislike working out with injuries but don’t want to take off significant mounts of time.

                I've got some bad back issues and have had them since I was 16. L1-L5 and S1 are all herniated with stenosis in the L1 and L4 nerve channels. I really try and baby my lower back, but sometimes it gets too painful to do anything. I've been getting shots from the pain management physician here in Kerrville and I go in for a consult today with the new one. It's not as tight today, but he pain is still there and my left leg is markedly slower than my right. At least I didn't have to have my wife help me put my underwear on today!

                I went to the gym this morning for chest and back. All the back exercises were supported so I didn't mess anything up.

                Bench press 3X5 and 1X20
                T-bar row 3X5
                Hanging leg raise 3x10
                Incline BP on smith 3X12 and 1X20
                Bilateral lat pulldown 3X12
                Cable fly 3X25
                Low row wide grip 2X15
                Ab roller 3X10

                  18+ hour drive to Glenwood Springs on Wed/Thurs. I didn't turn on a track for our course on Friday, but we hiked 5.01 miles on Saturday with 878' elevation gain and 1540 total calories burned. We hiked 4.8 miles with 392' ascent and 1134 calories burned on Sunday. Friday was more similar to Sunday's course in terms of miles/elevation. Of course, we did a lot of walking beyond the actual courses, as well.

                      Got the consult done on Tuesday and should be getting a call to schedule the shots this week sometime. Back is a little looser and not as painful, but I know it's still there. Upper respiratory crap in addition to my back have me dragging. I went home yesterday and took a 6.5 hour nap. I wish I could sleep that well every night. My wife talked me out of gym today which is probably a good thing. I'll make it tomorrow.

                        3.83 mile "threshold" run yesterday evening. It didn't go as planned. I'm not sure if I haven't fully recovered from my hikes, or if it was because I ran an hour or so after I ate dinner, but something was definitely off.

                          I missed Friday for travel to Abilene and slept right through my alarm this morning. I don't even remember turning it off. I'll hit it tomorrow.

                            I've slacked on my resistance training the last couple of weeks because of traveling. I did a 1:06 run (5.9 miles) yesterday morning. I'm going to do a fairly easy full body workout today and ease my way back into strength training.

                                Finally back at it today. Took 5 days off between helping out on a ranch and still trying to heal up an ailing shoulder. Hit up traps, shoulders and back… shoulder feels good so far and hoping it continues to heal without completely having to stop working out…
