2023 GMC Sierra 1500….no internet no onstar

Anyone dealt with this issue? Quit working two days ago. Tried disconnecting battery and calling Onstar. No help at all. Worked 11 months no issues. 2023 models get 3 years free. No plan needed.

I wish I could buy a new truck without it.

I own the same vehicle but 2021. If that’s your only issue you’re blessed. Good luck finding the problem.

I wanted to take my 21 in for the screen black out issue but they are two weeks behind- I called other dealers within 75 miles of me to try to get it in and the same thing. I can’t be without my truck that long. I drive by our dealer to see if he was being honest about their lot being full of vehicles needing repair and the majority are all fairly new GMC’s and Chivolets! Too many issues with gubment motors.

Have the same issue with my 2020. The whole radio set up as been replaced or reprogrammed 3 times so far. Still have issues with it but gave up on it.

That’s what I’m hearing more and more. I love the 3.0 diesel and I was really impressed with the inside features until this. I appreciate your reply.

Finally got my truck in for the screen blackout but they can’t reproduce it happening. I have 300 miles left on my warranty so I guess I’m just going to be screwed. It’s gotten worse as the weeks go by, there’s no Ryme nor reason of when it’s going to happen . I imagine when it goes out it’s going to be a pricey repair.

Just me but I terminated my Onstar after the free trial period. There are to many bells, and whistles on new trucks. Mines a 2021 elevation I still don't know what most of the buttons do.

Might just need to be updated. You just need a wifi connection within range.

Now more than ever, GMC can keep up with the ever-changing world around you with Vehicle Software Updates. Your Vehicle's Connectivity will do all the work.

My wife just bought a GMC Tahoe. The OnStar integrated in that thing is more of a PITA than anything. They need to ditch that

Completely different brand. And it never left me stranded.

But when my 2019 F250s screen started locking up. I was able to download the newer version onto a flash drive and end up rewriting the program (I guess it was) with the newer version that comes on the 2020+ trucks.

It has a different look and has worked fine ever since.

it took some YouTubeing and duck duck going to figure it out, but this knuckle dragger did.

Might be something worth looking into.

Not sure it's the same thing, but my daughter's 2018 had issues with the screen/radio just randomly changing functions, activating siri (while in apple carplay mode), changing stations, etc. Google had folks that had tried everything including having unit replaced. The single most popular solution for solving it was a $35 replacement of the touch portion of the screen that took an hour and a half to replace.

It's amazing what the discussion forums, etc know that the dealerships do not.

The dealer must not know about this
