Ours are set at 40". Keeps the coons from standing on the ground and pawing all the food out at once. At least at that height they have to jump up and work for it.
I have built all of mine at 42". It's just a natural height for them. They feel safer when they don't have to bend to eat. Mama will rake feed out for the little ones too. Plus it's a little to tall for the coons and shorter pigs.
