What lathe to get?

Looking into getting a hobby lathe that will be able to turn pens, duck calls, or other small wood projects. Not looking to break the bank but how big of a motor and how many rpm's should I be looking for. Any features I need or brands to look for?

Buy a delta. They are my favorite brand and very solidly built.

I bought my wife a Jet.

I have a Rikon and I like it a lot, but the Delta and Shop Fox are also good
lathes.

Oh, yeah I forgot about Jet. Also check out Grizzly, their power tools are good also.
