not illegal what he's doing but harassing him with hair clippings, etc. is. Now if he shoots across your property line then he's breaking the law along with crossing the fence without permission.

BTW I hunt small acreage and there's not a lot of options some times. I've talked to my neighbors and got permission to cross the fence to retrieve game and placement of stands. They don't hunt so being on their fence line is OK with them. I put my stand in the trees on the fence line and the feeder the opposite direction so all my shots stay on my property.

So I'm suppose to wait until fired upon before we can do anything......
      Doesn't make since...
There's a potential hazard, you'd think there's something that could be done.

If all land around you is hunted, anytime you go there's a potential hazard.
The only thing that can be done to avoid this potential hazard is to quit hunting.

If it is driving you crazy you need to talk to your landowner and then the neighboring landowner. They would probably move it if asked by their landowner!

Let's not make it about ethics, everyone has their own idea of what should or shouldn't be allowed and in this case they haven't broke any laws!

Assume away, but that will get you no where!
          Good advice right here ^.

Try and meet with them. Good ol face to face goes a long way. If you can't do that put a note to try and meet. Then hash out what you think all the problems is and will be

Set up a stand on the trails going to the feeder on your side. They just saved you from have to buy corn or a feeder!

              Just thinking positive!

ok i understand that what is happening is not right, and i understand the hunter harassment law. But with all the threads of feeders and stands next to property lines coming up the people leasing or owning the land this is happening to not run their four wheelers, park trucks, or whatever else on their own property anytime they want? I'm not saying to stay out there all day, but just a couple of runs next to your property line would be perfectly legal. Your not harassing anyone. Your just running your property.

Talk to them to make sure they aren't shooting your direction. At a min they should put the stand on the fence line and shoot into their own property. Or you could ask your land owner to put a high fence up on that side. If the deer aren't crossing it they will move the feeder...

Harassing a hunter is illegal even if you are doing it for your own safety concerns.

This. Hunt small tract of land surrounded by other small tracts of land that are hunted. Very surprising on opening weekend on how many shots sound like they are right next to you!

This is true. I'm just saying the put hair clippings, gut pile, type comments are the harassment I'm talking about. Nothing wrong with using that fence line for your 4 wheeler path to your stand or your parking lot. As I've mentioned I hunt a small tract of land. My neighbor has a small airplane and has built a small runway in his pasture. Pretty much ends my hunt everytime he takes off or lands but I don't consider that harassment. Luckily it doesn't happen often but probably 2-3x per season. If he intentionally was putting hair clippings on the fence line to ruin my hunt then yes that would be harassment.

If you don't have a stand in the area then your making a big deal of nothing.

On our north fence line a guy has his feeder tied wires to the fence. His stand is on the fence line as well so not shootin across the fence line that we know about. We drug an old stand and put it about 5 yards away from his feeder. We may have taken hair clippings over there from time to time

Moth balls on your side of the fence while your scouting.

Until you talk with them you have nothing but assumptions. Do not under estimate the fact that it could be pure stupidity and not designed to interfere with your hunting intentionally. Talk to them and work out a plan.
