I've had a horton hunter for about 25 years still works great and i bought it used. Growing up in ohio (where the horton factory is located) everyone seemed to have a crossbow.
In Texas though, if i had time to practice i would shoot a traditional..crossbow hunters without disabilities are definitely outsiders hereLast edited by Italianxbowuser; 07-13-2011, 10:08 AM.

I have 2 parket buckbusters 175 for the kids and they are good crossbows! Lifetime warranty on limbs and stuff! You cna find them on ebay for like 450 or so with the coking device, arrows scope quiver the whole 9 yards. I bought me a barnett ghost 400 and this thing is the cats meow!!!! VERY VERY FAST and REALLY QUIET compared to the parkers! It has carbon fiber limbs! I am hoping to blow through a hog with it this season!!!!!

Excalibur all the way, you can buy their Axiom for under $500. IMO a recurve crossbow is the only way to go, much easier to work with than a compound and you do not have to shoot them to uncock them. I just bought my parents the 2010 version of the axiom (the 2011 are cheaper but have a composite frame instead of aluminum)
