By the time we
finished setting up the tripod and ICE Blind, it
was nearly 2:30 and time to head back out to
hunt. Casey and Glenn hunted their
respective ICE Blinds, while I wanted to give the
Gametamer a couple more chances. It was a
long afternoon, as the only deer I saw were across
the property line, and another group that worked
through the brush nearly 200 yards away.
Casey was blanked as well, while Glenn had
substantially more action, though he never had a
shot opportunity. He saw several does that
walked away from him on the road along the high
fence. He also had a real good looking eight
pointer that entered the flat from the southeast
corner and walked along the fence toward Glenn
before turning about 75 yards out and walking out
into the flat. Click on the photo to see a short
video clip of this magnificent buck!
We stopped at a little restaurant on the way
back to the motel called Pepper's Grill to
celebrate Glenn's birthday. It
was a nice little place that we'll be sure to stop
in on future trips, with a great atmosphere and
excellent food!
Back at the hotel, we watched the video of
Glenn's eight point and rekindled our hopes for
the remainder of the weekend. |
