OK, we're a little off on our timing, but night hunting
will tend to throw things off schedule a bit!
CAMBO GOT ONE! WOO HOOO! It was a corsican
ram, his first ever animal with a bow!
With an assist from his dad and Roy, Cambo managed to
stalk and shoot a corsican. He felt like he made a
good shot, and said he just followed the nock of the arrow
all the way through. Sounds like he was fully
focused, to me!
He wisely decided to wait the traditional thirty
minutes before beginning the tracking process. When
it was finally time, everybody in camp joined for the
exciting search. We let Cameron take the lead, and
the blood trail was easy to follow, save for a momentary
loss of the trail when the ram double back!
Soon we were back on trail, and Cameron finally had his
ram! A perfect, quartering away, double lung
shot! What a thrill to be following behind, videoing
the entire tracking job.
Chris was one proud daddy! We were all proud of
the kid! No longer a rookie!
Also of note this morning, the other group of hunters,
who are hunting in the hog pasture, managed to get a nice
boar last night and finally recovered it this
morning.
My question is why didn't Roy clean mine last
night?
Finally, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to head
into D'Hanis for some big 'ol Bill's Cheesy Chicken Fried
Steak at Bill and Rosa's!
We'll be heading back out this evening for more
night-time action!
